Movie maker and owner/inventor of Signature Foils Ivan van Vuuren came all the way from South Africa to Heaven on the Planet this week to shoot a movie about “Life and fun in the ocean”. They surfed, kited, foiled, SUPped and sailed the new hand-held small kites for SUPs and foils. Planet provided the perfect location for all of this. Ivan is a professional movie maker for cable TV channels. He was ecstatic about the place and said, “Planet has everything I needed … and I like it much more than Bali!”
The stars were his son Nathan, plus Mike Oxley the waterman and Matt O’Rourke from Signature Australia. Nathan is ranked in the top 5 in the world on foils. He was riding a 2’9” foil board, small enough to come in hand luggage. And he can surf. He pulled into barrels on the Inside ledge at Outsides. Matt made the drop on his foil on steep pitching waves. Mike is an expert foiler and great water cameraman.
Kerry said, “It was so satisfying to see them having heaps of fun. Planet was proud to be chosen for the venue”. The movie should be released in the next 2 months.
